Title: Senior Estimator

Worksite Location: Fishers, Indiana

Duties: Meyer Najem Construction, LLC seeks Senior Estimator in Fishers, IN to be responsible for development of conceptual budgets and management of those budgets throughout all design phases through finalization of contract value. The Senior Estimator also manages the bid, buyout and contracting processes for our projects. At the completion of this “buyout” phase, the Senior Estimator is required to draft and refine contract documents with our subcontractors and development of exhibits and key components of our Owner Contracts. The Senior Estimator will need to coordinate internally with project management staff and educate them on the design components, critical success factors for the project, and the subcontracting history and be able to address their questions and provide them with a solid basis for executing on their role. The Senior Estimator will also need to coordinate and participate with the internal marketing and business development departments in a concerted effort during RFP/RFQ pursuits for negotiated work as well as hard bid submissions for public work. The Senior Estimator will also provide oversite and mentorship to younger and less experienced estimators. Other duties include: development and management of General Conditions costs and the costs for our management staff, identification of applicable Construction Management Fees, technical review of project documents and specifications, management of documents including: subcontractor and vendor bid proposals, design documents and addendums, requests for information, technical submittals and compliance, daily project communications with all stakeholders, pull plan leadership and involvement, site logistics planning, design phase schedules and keeping everyone on task, buy logs and scopes of work, developing and maintaining subcontractor and vendor relationships, departmental adherence to company policies and risk management procedures, involvement in trade organizations such as: American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) and Indiana Subcontractor Association (ISA), training of less experienced estimators, coordination of approach with our safety management and risk management personnel, leadership of our projects to ensure that they are in compliance with our company’s policies and Mission Statement. Advising the Vice President of Preconstruction, Chief Operations Officer, President and Chairman of any significant problems encountered, and recommended solutions.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or related field. 10 years of experience in direct communication with contractors and bidders to develop detailed scope of work for construction projects. 10 years of experience in subcontractor bid evaluations. 5 years of experience in conceptual budgeting and identifying risks associated with various commercial and municipal construction projects. 5 years of experience in working on both negotiated (CM-C, CM-A, GMP) and hard bid (lump sum) contract types. 5 years of experience in leading pre-construction project communication with owners and design team.
